Recently Dick Myers, member of Querencia, a private golf club and residential community in Los Cabos, hosted a golf trip for 26 of his friends. The group, including Dick’s friends from the club and surrounding Los Cabos area, played the three courses in La Paz. They began with Paraiso del Mar, then Costa Baja and finished with a round of golf at Bahía de los Sueños. The members of the group raved about the course, and were especially impressed with its natural beauty. They said that Bahía by far had the best service. Dick stated, “I have played all over the U.S., and The Bay is a tremendously quiet and peaceful setting in which to enjoy golf. It is a true golf experience because here it is only you and Mother Nature”.
Among the many compliments coming from Myers’ guests was an appreciation of how designer Tom Doak has meticulously incorporated the course into the area’s cardón cactus forest, and designed exquisite views of the bay and mountains.
Four of Doak’s designs are featured in Golf magazine’s Top Fifty Golf Courses in the World. Doak designed three of the top five golf courses on that list. His naturalist-architecture approach led the design of Bahia de los Sueños, ensuring that the habitat-sensitive course was central to the layout of the resort.
After the Myers group finished their rounds, they enjoyed authentic Mexican cuisine along the Sea Cortez at the Gran Sueno Train Room.
